Restaurant Management/Hostel Management Position

We are a young couple running our very busy restaurant in the tourist town of Livingstone, Zambia; home of the Victoria Falls and the adventure capital of Africa. We have been open for just over 3 years and in that time we have expanded from a 50 seat restaurant to a 200 seat restaurant. We are looking for someone with solid experience to take over management of the restaurant while we concentrate on building a backpackers behind the restaurant. Eventually if desired and suited, this position would lead to a hostel management position, or overall management position with a management team below you.
This is an exciting job with a great opportunity to be involved with the design and set up of a new hostel, we would welcome your input and creative ideas. An opportunity not to be missed (we will tell you more about our hostel plans upon application)
The position for the restaurant would start by the end of this year and the hostel will hopefully be up and running by mid-2015. There is an initial trial period of 3 months in which we will pay for your visa, provide accommodation, utilities, and a stipend. If you prove to be the right person for the job and both parties are happy, an attractive salary with possible bonuses for reaching targets will be offered.
Prospective employees will undertake the daily running of the restaurant, including shopping/ordering stock, staff management and training, stock taking, customer service, basic book keeping and advertising. You will report to us and have a team of around 25 people.
You must have a minimum 2 years working in a similar role, as a manager or a supervisor in a restaurant/café/hostel and an understanding of the different departments: service, kitchen and bar. You must be hard working, command respect, be organised, passionate, and lead by example.
