Smart City Hostel, Edinburgh, is a purpose built, modern five star hostel located just of the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The hostel is just minutes away from Edinburgh castle, nightlife precincts and the city centre. We are open all year round providing up to date facilities and a friendly atmosphere whether you are visiting Edinburgh as a tourist, on business or here to party, Smart City can accommodate your every need.

Smart City offers rooms for 2 to 12 people, available as private rooms or shared dorms with female only dorms available on request. We also cater for groups of 10 people and over.

Once through our doors you will find a 24 hour reception with our friendly team offering tourist information and tour bookings. We have lift access to all floors as well as secure room key card’s and CCTV throughout the building. Smart city provides guests with a kitchen, laundry facilities and WiFi. We also have a 24 hour internet café, phone charging facilities, a luggage store and a meeting room available for hire so everything you could ask for is all here under Smart City’s giant roof making us Edinburgh’s ultimate urban resort!

Bar 50 is open from 8am till late serving a full Scottish buffet breakfast from only £4.50 as well as quality food, drinks and coffees throughout the day. We cater to large groups providing buffet dinners and packed lunches on request. The cafe also has pool tables, widescreen TV’s, a wii console and an outdoor heated smoking area and terrace.
