Dublin! Summer Hostel Manager

Who are we?

Destiny Student manages Student Campus buildings for rent privately over the summer months. Flats are located in Dublin City Centre, close to all the city has to offer. We cater to families, groups, students, holiday makers, backpackers and more!

The working period will be from the last week of May through to the end of August, you must be able to work for the entire period.

We are able to provide accommodation for the Summer- Your own room and bathroom, as well as a shared kitchen in our staff flat.

Who are we looking for?
A hard working, motivated individual, someone who is welcoming and can work in a team and on their initiative. An outgoing personality and the ability to enjoy and have fun at work is ideal.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• The role covers all the Receptionist responsibilities; however, you will also be in charge of overseeing, checking, chasing up and reporting to the wider team.
• Responding and solving complicated or escalated requests, phone calls, emails and reviews.
• Communicating with the housekeeping manager and cleaning staff, ensuring the housekeeping reports are accurate and the rooms are ready for 3pm check ins.
• Ensuring the wider team’s requirements are met, we give all our managers the flexibility to run their own team and rotas, as ultimately you will quickly understand what works well and how to improve.
Person specification:
• This role requires strong business, team and relationship qualities. You will need to motivate all members of your team, ensure everyone is pulling in the same direction. Therefore, direct leadership experience in teams, clubs and other jobs will really help.
• We are looking for friendly people who can build rapport and keep the peace with our guests and team. A friendly attitude combined with a strong work ethic, problem solving, resilience, great reliability and time keeping, plus a passion for continual improvement.
• You will need to work on computers daily therefore Microsoft Word, Excel and general computer knowledge to pick up different software will be required. You will need to be available before the buildings open so that we can train you on the processes, you will then need to train your team, therefore empathetic teaching techniques help.

Strong English language skills are required in both speaking, reading and writing. Although we welcome any candidates who are visiting to improve their English further as we really value other language speakers such as Spanish, Italian, French, German, Cantonese to name a few.
