Additionally there will be a basic salary paid weekly. You will have your own double room and breakfast every day and the possibility of several free dinners and meals on top of this per week.
Our hostel has a great reputation and one of the things we are most proud of is our atmosphere and how much people love working with us, as well as staying. You will also be able to go on several trips and excursions for free (when bringing guests). You'll become one of the bananas family (a very close, chilled, but pretty crazy and always interesting bunch) and will have the opportunity to live in this incredibly beautiful, mad little town surrounded by gorgeous Atlantic rainforest, over 12 local beaches, waterfalls, surf, kayaking etc, whilst being part of a hostel that is ever evolving and improving. We are a couple from London who own and run a small and very jolly hostel in the middle of a gorgeous town, on a peninsular in Bahia, Brazil. We have had the hostel for 6 years now and we are very proud of it and how it's going. We have reached a point in our lives where we want to step back from the day to day management and focus our efforts on various other projects (i.e. doing eco projects in the hostel and around town), as well as having a bit more time to look after our dogs.
Itacare is one of the few remaining places in Bahia, Northeast Brazil, where the Atlantic rainforest meets the sea. It is famous for its surf, beaches, waterfalls, ridiculous beauty, capoeira, reggae and amazing vibe. We are a 10minute walk to 4 of the local beaches (there are many more!), 10mins to the town centre and next to the bars and restaurants (because of how the property is arranged we don't suffer with street noise). Our hostel is very sociable and we pride ourselves on making our guests feel at home and providing lots of entertainment and relaxation. We have a pool table, foosball table, book exchange, games, hammocks, communal kitchen, an awesome bar, lots of art and a beautiful big garden. We also have sky tv and plenty of music equipment. We run a variety of nights during the week including: film nights, poker and of course, chill outs. We regularly have musicians play and started a jam night that, over the years, has become very popular with the whole town. We also have 3 beautiful dogs, Lena, Jam, Jeffrey and a cat named Bambam.
