Volunteer in Santorini September 15 - October 31
We are looking for a volunteer to join our hostel in Santorini in 2023.
Number of positions available: 1
Duration of stay: 6-11 weeks weeks
Available periods: September 15 - end of October, 2023
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- An enthusiastic, open-minded and very reliable and mature person
- Experience in tourism or at hostels is welcomed
- Fluent in English. Extra languages are plus (especially Spanish and French), Greek language is not a requirement
- Trustworthy, reliable, fast- lerner, ability to work in a team but also think and act independently;
- Self- confidence to handle tricky situations;
- Positive approach towards work, guests and co-workers; easy to mingle with others
- Curious to learn about Greek culture and cuisine
TYPICAL TASKS:
- Preparation and supervision of breakfast
- Customer service
- Organization and participation at activities and events such as dinners, movie nights, concerts and similar.
- Basic housekeeping maintenance tasks in the kitchen, reception area, rooms, common bathrooms and outdoor spaces
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Pocket money 50 Euros/ week
- Accommodation + breakfast
- Usage of all the facilities (communal kitchen, swimming pool, laundry, yoga terrace etc)
- Commission from organized dinners
WORKING TIME:
Daily 8am-11am
Events:
- Leading the bi-weekly dinner on Mondays & Thursdays typically 7.15pm – 10pm
- Movie night: Wednesday evenings for 2.5 hours
One day off every 10 days
ACCOMMODATION:
Bed in our staff area which comprises of 2 rooms and typically accommodates 3 people.
The bathroom is shared by 3 staff members.

ABOUT CAVELAND:
The history of Caveland is 300 years old. This complex was originally used as a winery. The grapes were collected from local vineyards that are surrounding it. Afterwards they were mashed in a well that is located at today’s reception. Finally, the wine was stored in the caves that are now converted into cave rooms.
This place was later known as a tennis club and it was in the late seventies one of the first hotels in Santorini. It was refurbished and re-opened in 2011 as a boutique hostel. It offers a mixture of private and dorm-style accommodation. The property is a 15 000 sqm large with a big pool, numerous gardens and hidden corners. It is in a picturesque village of Karterados just next to Santorini’s capital Fira town. Karterados village lies on the main bus route connecting Fira with the south of the island. Therefor the location is ideal for those who want to explore the island and still be away from the crowds.
