2 month House Assistant in Antibes, Cote D'Azur (France)
We are a high end residence (Boutique Hotel)for Crew from the SuperYacht industry. We have 2 properties, close to each other, one manager on each property. Each house has 17-18 guests. Our goal is to fill our houses all year round with yacht crew and general travelers. Below please find a detailed job description.
The responsibility of the house manager is to check guests in and out, make beds, laundry, enforce house rules and protocol, general housekeeping and handing guests issues. Essentially, admin and reservation aside you will be expected to operate a boutique hostel, on your own. You will need to be clean, organised, flexible, firm but fair, self motivated, responsible and conscientious. We are always around to provide support and will be showing up to both properties at random times to make sure everything runs smoothly. If you are a light sleeper then please do not apply to this job. If you are not a get up and go type of person, this is not the job for you.
Housekeeping consists of general morning housekeeping, which requires up to one and a half hour to clean the common areas and stairwell. One Mondays and Fridays, we ask for 4-5 hours of cleaning on each of those mornings, to carry out deep clean of the common areas, plus 3 rooms on Monday, and then 3 other rooms on Friday.Wednesdays are devoted to monthly jobs. The laundry of the outgoing guests will need to be turned around for new arrivals..In reality when ever you are at home, you will be tending laundry and neatly folding away. Housekeeping is a big part of this job. Any housekeeping experience is a plus and will be considered amongst all other applicants.
You will be provided with all the tools needed and training needed, a business mobile phone (for business calls only), on which you can always be reached. (You will still need your own personal phone). We also expect the house manager to monitor guests and take control of those who are breaking rules, and report them to us (its pretty rare, since we are the most expensive which weeds out the trouble makers).
This is not an 8 hour a day job,but you will need to be very flexible since guests check in at random times. In the past organized managers have worked around 6-7 hours per day, weekends 1-2 hours. We try to have all guests check in at reasonable times, however sometimes it is beyond their control. This is not a job for a lazy person.
There will be some help required from time to time with some simple maintenance and painting. If you are on top of your duties you will not be required to sit in the house all day, but we do require them to sleep in the house at night. Sleeping off premises is not an option. The owner may require your help from time to time with personal errands etc.
The day starts with morning phone calls with the managers to set up their days. At that time we review the number of check ins and check outs. The manager will be in daily contact with (us) the owners, hourly when it is very busy, and will communicate as to when guests are planning to leave, etc.
Another duty is to report all repairs to us so that we can fix them right away.
The position is offered for 3 months only. Living this environment can be tiring, plus we find that this level of contact with the Superyacht industry tends to pull our managers in that direction.
English a must and French a plus.
Each manager gets their own room and their own bathroom and some compensation.
We have zero tolerance for drug users and alcohol abusers.

We are close to all transport, entertainment and 10 minutes from Nice and 15 Minutes from Cannes. We are a self catering Hostel for professional travelers.
