Assistant Manager London Needed

65 bed London hostel is looking for an assistant manager to help with the day-to-day running of the hostel. The ideal candidate is someone that is currently a head receptionist of a large hostel/hotel, or an assistant manager looking for a change. Bar experience is a big plus as we operate a small bar onsite.

You will generally be in charge of the cleaning, making sure the cleaners have cleaned the rooms, beds are made, ordering cleaning supplies, and there might be the odd time you have to do room cleaning (if the cleaners are ill - maybe once a month). You will get the chance to have at least one weekend off a month, but always two consecutive days off during the week. We are also very flexible on shifts, meaning you can work double shifts to build up time off, or swap shifts with other staff. The shifts are not set in stone.

You will also be doing the guest checkins, ordering breakfast supplies (Tesco online or Tesco instore), allocations from HostelBookers/World, and other things the manager needs help with.

At times, you will be required to go out with the guests and take them on a pubcrawl, or take them out drinking. Socialising with the guests is very important. You make a commission every time you take them on a pubcrawl.

If you can speak French or Spanish, that is a big plus, English is of course essential, and you must have the right to work in the UK, such as British Citizens, ILR, EU Citizens, WHV, Youth Mobility, etc., as this is a paid position.

Please e-mail your cover letter, CV, with a photo, age, nationality, and how soon you can start to [email protected]. We are preferring someone to live out for this position, but for the right person live in accommodation would be possible. We are interviewing right now, but initial Skype interviews can take place, and then proceed from there.

Cut off date for applications is 14 August 2012.

Look forward to hearing from you.
