Fun hostel on beautiful Lake Atitlan Guatemala looking for an assistant manager
Hostel/hotel La Iguana Perdida set on the shores of gorgeous Lake Atitlan, Guatemala are currently looking for the perfect candidate to fill our assistant manager position.
The main responsibilities of the job are as follows:
- Dealing with emails and online reservations (we do not take
reservations over the phone)
- Cash outs from the register and balancing money in the safe
- Dealing with and recording expenses
- Handling PayPal/Credit card payments and recording with a spreadsheet
- Booking Shuttle Tickets/various other activities
- Ordering drinks, chocolates, etc.
- Looking for, training and organising new volunteers
- Menu planning (We have family style dinners every night and make the
menu for the week on Mondays)
- Calculate and distribute wages for local staff
-Managing to some extent the local girls who work in the kitchen
- Inventory (Done every Monday)
- Dealing with matters to do with INGUAT and making sure the facturas
are kept up to date
- Serving the evening meal and doing a welcome speech for the guests
We get a huge range of clientele here from families to groups of young
travellers in their 20´s so it´s important to find the right balance
of fun/party hostel and family friendly hotel.
Job includes a salary with free accommodation for yourself in
your own room. Half price drinks at the bar. Three full meals a day. Free
yoga and Kayak rental and discounts on diving and shuttles.
The asst manager hours are split in the week with the manager as
follows: two full days (8am-8pm), three half days (Fri, Sat, Sun) and
two days off.
Must have hospitality experience and be proficient in Spanish.
We are really looking for someone who is able to start at the end of
May/beginning of June 2016 and commit for a minimum of 6 months.
