Got talent? Want to live & volunteer in paradise? Join an amazing tribe at one of Mexico’s Top Hostels!
Hostel Ka’beh in Cancun is now looking for volunteers !! =D
We believe travel is fundamental to living a more fulfilled life, enriched by the perspective and invaluable experience that can only come from being surrounded by languages, people, nature, and cultures unlike your own__
It’s because of this, as a business, we’re committed to maintaining a team as culturally and linguistically diverse and balanced as possible. We believe in helping weary travelers coming through our doors have the experience of a lifetime, no matter what side of the reception desk they sit on, and doing everything we can to maintain the unique environment that our special hostel been known for since day one:
an incredibly social environment.
Our volunteer position offers the best of both worlds: you get to enjoy the Hostel and our little corner of paradise as part of the team, but only work part time, and stay on-site just like our paying travelers.
We’re looking for people that are dynamic, proactive, know how to party, willing to pitch-in whenever necessary to give a helping hand, work as a team, and most importantly, maintain a positive attitude.
Tasks and positions volunteers may take on with us are:
- Auxiliary receptionist shifts for Morning, Afternoon, and/or Night Shifts
- Breakfast Shifts
- Bar Shifts
- Beach-day Shifts
- Evening Entertainment Shifts
- Yoga Shifts
- Spanish Lessons for Travelers Shifts
- General and Weekly Maintenance Shifts
- Cleaning Shifts
- DJ
- Bloggers/Travel Writers
- Traveling Musicians/Bands/Performers/Fire Dancers/Etc
When accepting volunteers, preference is given to
- Stability - Candidates looking to stick around for at least two weeks are preferred, but even a few days is ok too!
- Special Skills: Yoga teachers, bar tenders, photographers, videographers, gardeners, and people with experience in sales, or mixing as a DJ.
- Multilingual skills, with a focus on English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Hebrew, Australian (xD…srly tho), and any of the Scandinavian languages.

Volunteers must take six shifts a week (roughly 24hrs/week) in exchange for free accommodation, free breakfast, and free dinner, seven days a week.
Shifts are assigned every day at 10:30am at the volunteer meeting, for the next 24hrs. In order to request and receive a shift, volunteers must be present at the meeting. Shifts are assigned in order of shift-priority until all volunteers have received a shift, or no volunteer is willing to take the shift on offer.
Upon arrival, we open a ‘tab’ for you via leaving your passport with management (as travelers do at the Hostel who don’t settle up upon check-in). A reception manager will put a volunteer slip into the passport and put it into a safe we have on-site. Under special circumstances, a $100 USD deposit and alternative photo ID may be left in lieu of a passport.
At the beginning of every week, shifts taken during the previous week are tallied up and a balance in favor or balance due will be calculated. If you worked more than required, then those shifts will carry fourth to the next week. If you were left with a balance due and plan on staying, then you may commit to working extra hours to cover the deficit or pay for the nights not worked.
The longer you stay, the more opportunities you have to take tours and activities in the region for free or at a heavily discounted rate.
Note that while this position isn't a paid position, it DOES allows for the possibility to make a little bit of extra income through our commission system.

Our amazing location is in downtown Cancun, half a block from Cancun’s central park.
