Hostel in Swedish Lapland
Want tour to volunteer in a hostel North of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland?
Heres a chance to have a truly unique Lapland experience! Scanbalt Experience is a tour operator focusing on the 18-35 year olds. Lapland winter trips is our most popular tour and we have regular travels from Late November to end of March. Most of the trips goes to Kiruna and Abisko in the far North. We co-operate with HI in Sweden who runs a activity center and hostel in Abisko NP. In Abisko most groups stay 2 nights and do different activities. Our tour managers work really hard during the peak season and we therefor decided that we should have 1-2 persons stationed at the hostel in Abisko.
The volunteers will help out with the BBQs we arrange in a tent, sauna evenings and keep an eye on the hostels. An estimation is 5-6 hours’ work a day 6 days a week. We like people who can stay minimum 14 days. You must be atleast 20 years old, fluent in English, being responsible and social. The right person could be offered guide jobs after being a volunteer.
You join one of our tours going North and stay in Abisko when the bus head back south after 2 weeks or more you jump on a bus that will take you south to Stockholm. You get for free what the ordinary include and extras.
Free accommodation in shared room, winter clothes, visit to the icehotel, dogsledding, snowmobiling, some meals, visit to sami people, visit to Narvik to check the fjords in Norway, snow shoeing, skiing. Abisko is world famous for the Northern Lights so with atleast 2 weeks there you should see some breath taking auroras
