Live-in receptionist required for Backpackers hostel in Brighton, UK

We are looking for a live in receptionist at our small but busy hostel in Brighton. We need a friendly, outgoing and caring individual to work on the reception desk and also carry out some cleaning tasks as part of the shift. Your working week would be 3 x 6 hour shifts in exchange for a bed in a shared dormitory. There will usually be at least one other shift available which is paid. As we get busier for summer, more shifts are likely to be available. Typical shifts are 9am-3pm and 3pm-9pm and you will be required to work weekends and holidays. Some experience of hostel work, reception or customer services is preferred, but a warm personality, reliability and attention to detail are the main things we look for. The hostel is a welcoming and fun environment with many people from all over the world, so there is always someone around to chat to or do fun things with. Main duties are checking guests in and out, cleaning of rooms and communal areas, answering guests queries and ensuring that we are helping them to further enjoy their stay, responding to emails, etc Good spoken and written English is essential and knowledge of other languages is a huge bonus! We would like someone to commit to at least 6 weeks, but hopefully much longer! The last receptionist stayed for around 8 months and combined his job here with another part time job nearby and managed to save enough for more travels. Brighton is a cool city by the sea with a relaxed vibe and packed with art, music and fun. Our hostel is 2 minutes from the beach and a few minutes walk from the city centre.
