Manager needed at tree house hostel in south east Georgia, USA
This Hostel in the Forest is located in south east georgia, USA. The hostel consists of two geodesic domes and 7 tree houses, a sweat lodge, and a lake with canoes. There is also a large space surrounded by glass for yoga and a primitive swimming hole with a rope swing. The property is a trust of 133 acres and we are interested in living in harmony with nature rather than against it. We demonstrate several permaculture practices on site and can host between 10 - 45 people in tree houses and a large bunk house. The hostel hosts a vegetarian meal each night. We are also a 501 (c) 3 non profit hosting educational and spiritual retreats. This hostel has been in existence for 38 years and has long track record for serendipity, magic, and sharing.

The manager position is for 6 months starting April 15th of 2014 and includes a private hut, food, a working truck for errands and pick ups, and a weekly stipend of $150 (negotiable based on experience).
The manager is responsible for:
*selecting and training between 4 - 6 staff and people working on specific projects on a volunteer basis
*Keeping account of the hostel's income and making deposits each week.
* initiating new projects as needed to create a safer more beautiful hostel
* selecting and working with a kitchen manager and garden manager
* ordering from a bulk food company known as UNFI
*reporting to the board of directors on projects and long term goals
* holding space for wondrous and magical place that has touched and changed many people's lives
*countless other roles
This hostel is a truly unique experience and has been evolving and changing with each new manager that passes through the space. Please take some time to submit a comprehensive resume with at least three references. Hospitality experience, carpentry and experience managing volunteers can all be very helpful skill in this position. Teachers and artists have also been successful.
