Special Assistant for Small Hostel Chain

We are a thriving boutique hostel chain operating out of Southern California. We have 3 locations in San Diego, 2 locations on Big Bear Mountain, and one location coming soon to Los Angeles. Our hostels range in size from 30 to 80 beds. Owners of the company are looking for someone who understands and appreciates what the Hostel Culture is like but is responsible/mature enough to work on administrative tasks and assist with Executive Projects.

Position requires ability to multi-task and ORGANIZATION is an absolute necessity for success within this role. Tasks will include daily remedial items such as checking voicemails and emails to sorting and filing mail. Some light bookkeeping (We can teach you) and operational report compilation should also be expected. Plus a wide variety of "Special Project" based tasks such as working on Menu Items, Event Planning, and Expansion into other hostel markets. This is an ideal position for someone who would like to one day manage or operate their own hostel. You will learn everything that happens behind the curtain!

This position is a Work/Exchange position requiring 20 hour per week in exchange for your bunk and two meals per day. Position provides exposure into all locations of company but this position is housed at our Hillcrest - San Diego location. Weekly schedule is subject to change but normally runs Monday thru Friday from 1pm to 5pm. Opportunities to earn additional wages via other jobs within hostel such as Reception shifts if desired.
