Volunteering Housekeeping and/or Activity Staff

We are a traveler's hostel in East Hollywood/Koreatown looking for a Volunteer Housekeeper to join our team! We are only looking to hire someone with open availability including weekends.
Our goal is to provide is to provide a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for young travelers around the world!

Free accommodation (bunkbed in staff dormitory) provided for volunteer work.

1. Job Title: Volunteer Housekeeper

As a volunteer housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning the hostel facilities, preparing breakfast, and
making beds while maintaining the hostel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
-Change beds for leaving beds, up to 30 beds per day
-Perform deep cleaning tasks
-Dispose of trash and recyclables
-Clean facilities, such as, common areas, patio, bathrooms, showers, floors, appliances, etc.
-Perform laundry for used towels, linen and blankets on an as-needed basis
-Restock and organize paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, linen, blankets, towels, supplies etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (including, but not limited to):
-Oral proficiency in English.
-Good communication and customer service skills.
-Able to work unsupervised with focus and attention to detail.
-Able to project a professional, friendly and courteous image to guests and patrons.
-Able to lift and carry 30+ pounds.
-A minimum of 24 hours of work weekly

2. Job Title: Volunteer Event/Activity Staff

As a volunteer Activity Staff, you will be responsible for organizing events and activities for the guests
throughout the week.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
-Plan, organize, and execute different activities throughout the week. Events can range from guided walking
tours to nighttime pub crawls.
-Deliver each activities/events as planned with timely manner.
-Take photo/video for all events hosted by the volunteer.
-Ensure satisfaction of every guests to encourage reviews for the hostel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (including, but not limited to):
-Oral proficiency in English.
-Good communication and customer service skills.
-Able to work unsupervised with focus and attention to detail.

-Able to lift and carry 30+ pounds.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:
-Previous work in the service industry, especially in hospitality, tourism, or event planning
-Previous stays in hostels
-Bilingual a plus -- English proficiency required
-Computer literacy required
-Travel experience
