Hostel Associate (Housekeeping, General Maintenance, Management)

Hostel Associate must be courteous, considerate of others, young age 19 - 29 yrs of age, hard working and fun!
Location. Downtown Little Falls, Walk to grocery, restaurants, library, museum, Erie Canal with water sports, rock climbing, biking along the canal, movie house, free tickets to all Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs home games.
Duties:
Morning: preparing coffee. General cleaning and laundry and other duties as assigned
Day and Evenings,
Check in and Check out Guests
Update Reservations
Provide guests with needed information on local attractions and events etc
English Speaking
Use washing machine, fold and store linens
Cleaning all rooms
Maintenance services to include making minor repairs, troubleshooting and maintain electronic equipment: DVD players, television, computers etc.
Assist in marketing and planning, host games and entertainment for guests at the hostel, accompany guests on some events ( i.e. bike tours, trips to events , etc)
Internet Research. Various topics will be assigned on various matters to be performed evenings and week ends
----other duties as assigned.
Although the position is 30 hours per week, the hours are staggered and flexible as long as the housekeeping and other assignments are timely performed and there is someone available to check in and check out guests. Staff must be available for weekends, and daytime hours between 7:30 am to 9:00 am and evenings from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Although work hours may be adjustable within the hours stated, the adjusted hours are at the sole discretion of The Nunnery.
Duration
If the position is accepted, candidate must work for minimum 6 weeks or up to 2 months
Qualifications:
Position requires a versatile multi skilled individual for guest services:
English speaking.
Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Social Media skills a plus.
Good personal and communication skills. Patient with guests. Ability to speak slowly to guests with limited English.
Dress Code and Conduct:
Men: Men will wear nice clean shirts, shorts or jeans. no sexy clothes no head jewelry. uniforms, at The Nunnery expense may be required.
Women: Women will wear nice clean shirts, shorts, jeans. No sexy clothes, logo t-shirts by The Nunnery expense may be required.
Other
Smoking, alcoholic beverages, and illegal drugs including marijuana are not permitted on the premises. Anyone appearing intoxicated or on drugs at the hostel, will be immediately dismissed.
No staff member is allowed to cultivate and sexual relationship with guests of The Nunnery.
