Volunteers Needed for Funky South Tel Aviv Hostel
SHALOM and welcome to the Family!
We are a one of the newest backpackers hostel to open in south tel aviv, nestled between the historical yet funky Old Jaffa and the artsy Florentine neighborhood.
We have 16 rooms; half privates and half dorms, a big courtyard, and a roof top where we have our chill out and party areas.
Here at the hostel we believe in a communal environment. Traveling is our shared passion, and we love having part of our staff be volunteers (many of who are travelers themselves). We are looking for a variety of workers: Reception, Daily Maintenance (cleaning rooms, laundry, etc), Repair Men/Women, and the ALL IMPORTANT Night Receptionist. We also aim to be a home for the (street) arts. Have you got artistic skills? We welcome creative expression in all forms; photographers and graphic designers are especially welcome, and our walls are always ready for new and interesting murals. Come and bring your talent and skills. We are a growing organization; we do our best and learn as we go, from our volunteer family as well as each other. You are welcome to initiate events, offer suggestions and choose projects that best suit your interest and skills.
We offer shared accommodation in an AC dorm room and an off-grounds apartment located next door, as well as breakfast and lunch daily. Everyone receives 1 day off a week, and has free accommodation in a number of other Israeli hostels for that day off, should you choose to get out and explore (and based upon other hostels availability.)
Volunteering with us grants you free use of the facilities such as wi-fi, computer, lockers, book exchange, hot drinks, bikes, kitchen and the laundry machine. In-house hostel sponsored activities (Parties/BBQ nights/ Shabbat Dinner) are free for volunteers. Beers and snacks are sold at wholesale price, at no profit to ourselves.
In exchange, we have the following Requirements of our Volunteers:
• Volunteering is a minimum of 4-12 weeks commitment
• Receptionist spots are a 2 months commitment minimum
• Volunteering work is 6 hours per day, 6 days a week.
• Volunteers must Assist in weekly events preparation (such as BBQ/ Shabbat Dinner)
• You choose your free day (let us know a week ahead)
We have a few guidelines we ask that you adhere to while you're volunteering; we support partying but would love if you could find the balance to respect those who sleep at night and have early morning shifts, and of course taking responsibility for your shifts.
Just like the guests you are asked to respect the place and other volunteers / guests / fuzzy creatures in dorms and common areas. Please keep your trail clean and your belongings organized.
Please let us know what dates you would be joining the family, and for how long you would like to stay. Also, be sure to specify which volunteer position you feel would be the best fit for you, as we need to make sure to have all key people staffed at all times.
See you soon :)
