Work exchange in sunny Rio de Janeiro!
We are looking for people on a work exchange basis for our guest-house/hostel in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil. We are offering a place to stay in our lovely guest-house / hostel (www.casa579.com) in Santa Teresa in return for help with front desk and administration.
The role includes:
- Greeting and orienting guests
- Ensuring rooms are maintained to standard
- Liasing with housekeeping staff
- Guest Liason during their stay
- Office Admin
- Assisting with Marketing and Reservations
- Must love animals as we have a very friendly dog who needs walking too!
All in all you should expect to work approx 25-30 hours per week. You MUST be able to speak good English and Portuguese as the job requires you to liase with English speaking guests and Portuguese speaking staff and suppliers. Please note we cannot take anyone who is not comfortable with conversing in Portuguese as this means you would not be able to do the job effectively.
As you will be dealing with guests on their holiday we are looking for people with a friendly and outgoing personality. Ideally we are looking for someone with a good knowledge of Rio (but this is not essential as long as you are a fast learner). In return for you working with us, you will receive accommodation (shared), breakfast, use of our laundry service and the house also has great facilities which you would be free to use (see www.casa579.com). It is also a chance to gain some great work experience in the tourism industry.
Please note we are looking for travellers/backpackers/students etc already in Rio (or on their way to Rio) and able to commit for 3 months minimum.
