Hello, my name is Veronika Apardi. I'm 18 years old and live in Germany. After finishing school last year, I would love to go abroad to work in the south-east of France to improve my french and gain some new work experience. I love the french lifestyle and the people and would enjoy working in a Hotel or Hostel from April for about 3 months as a receptionist. I'm an open minded person who is flexible, organised and ready to work hard! Loving meeting people from different cultures I'm speaking five languages: German, Russian, English, French and Italian. I would be very grateful to find a Hostel/Hotel to work for:)

Hi Veronika,

I worked like volunteer in the Youth Hostel Marseille Bonneveine, and it's possible to dodo a internship or a French Civil Service there, but for work in reception without French, I think it's impossible in Marseille (because there're a lot of French tourists).

But that it's really easy in Nice. I visited this city next year, I hosted in a youth hostel in city center, and believe me, the receptionist (German), didn't speak French, so it's not required. And also in the hostel there was a poster of "Looking Staff".

The hostel is https://www.villahostels.com/en/, but I think if you search "Youth Hostel in Nice" in Google, Booking or Hostelworld and you contact with the hostels, there are not problem because the tourists in Nice come from English-speaking countries or from Germany and Russia (there're a lot, and nobody knows Russian, xD).

Good luck.

Hey Rocío,

thank you soo much!! Did you go to France and searched there, or did you searched in advance?
Could you live in those hostels?

Best regards,
Veronika

Hi Veronika.

Honestly, I haven't idea about this. I did a Voluntary Service, it's not job, so it's different. In my hostel only French Civil Service volunteers and trainees live there, and that's Marseille (and it's not the best city for living...).

My recommendation is Nice, because it's the only place in Côte d'Azur where you can see youth hostels, because around Nice there're only little place with hotels (expensive hotels, generally, xD), but it's your choise. The best is if you contact just now with the hotels/hostels and if it's possible to work and live-in.

Other possibility is to search in the EURES website https://ec.europa.eu/eures/main.jsp?lang=de&acro=job&catId=482&parentCat... or in the French page http://candidat.pole-emploi.fr/candidat/rechercheoffres/avancee (in Pôle-emploi, if you want to see opportunities live-in you can write in "mots clés" LOGE, like that you can see the offers where the employer say if he does accommodation or not for workers).

Good luck,

Rocío
