Who are we?
Edinburgh Student Rentals manages Student Campus buildings for rent privately over the summer months. Flats are located in Edinburgh City Centre, close to Edinburgh University and all the Festival sites Edinburgh has to offer. We cater to Performers, Management, Theatre Groups, students, Holiday makers and alike.
What are we looking for?
Hard working individuals, someone who is welcoming, work in a team and on their initiative. An outgoing personality and the ability to enjoy and have fun at work is also desirable, as you will have constant interaction with guests.
Positions: Receptionist, Resident Assistant, Night Shift and Assistant Manager
Contract: Temporary (Summer Period)
Employment: Full-Time, Live-in (accommodation included)
Start date: 5th June / 30th June / 25th July
End Date: 3rd September

Receptionist:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Check-in and check-out guests in a friendly manner
- Distributing keys
- Taking card and cash payments
- Dealing with requests from guests, any complains or positive feedback directed to you or the company in a professional and a polite manner
- Working with our reservation team at Head Office
- Answering to e-mails from guests or other members of staff
- Managing walk-in guests
- Working alongside our cleaning team
Resident Assistant
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting guests and residents with any problems they may encounter during their stay
- Working alongside the reception and cleaning team
- Replacing dirty bed-linen with a fresh set
- Assisting our cleaning team when needed
- Helping reception staff dealing with guests’ requests
- Responsible for the overall tidiness of the hostel including the reception and staff room areas
- Running errands appointed by a superior
Night Shift
- Assisting the night and morning shift reception staff
- Preparing all necessary documentation that would be required for the day: check-in lists, cleaning lists etc.
- Dealing with late check-ins and early check-outs
- Enforcing quiet hours across the accommodation
- Dealing with emergencies during anti-social hours, if required
Assistant Manager
NOTE! If you apply for this position you will be working on reception, room shift and nights shift for the first 2 weeks of your employment in order to understand better how the hostel operates at all times
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervising reception, room shift and cleaning staff on a daily basis, ensuring high standards within housekeeping, maintenance and reception
- Long working hours, if required
- Preparing the working schedule on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
- Make record of working hours of staff, complete time-sheets
- Be able to work both on reception and/or help cleaning team/room shifts if required
- Responsible for the overall smooth running of the hostel
- Dealing with emergencies outside office hours
- Dealing with requests from guests, any complains or positive feedback directed to you or the company in a professional and a polite manner
- The role requires that you work with the existing team to ensure absolute customer satisfaction and also meet or exceed sales and profit targets
