Work for accommodation, learn how to run a hostel!
Hi guys.
First of all, thank you for your previous applications!! We had loads and loads of applications and it is wonderful to see so many driven souls out there!
I have decided to repost this as we now have some more news and information about the project.
We are taken over a bed and breakfast at Öland in Sweden that has been owned by an old couple for years.
When we are taking over in the end of January, we have to renovate the house and start everything over from scratch. This is the first hotel & hostel for me and my partner to run and we are looking for someone to help us with the start up. Öland is the second biggest island in Sweden and the tourism is huge in the summer. the hostel is in a little village on the north part. We can offer free accommodation and food in exchange of some all around help with the start up. It may include office work and also some renovation help, lifting etc. Therefor you need to be quite strong and willing to work different hours of the day. you also need to speak english quite fluently. Our guests will be coming from scandinavia and norther europe mostly. if you speak german or danish woul be a big plus. Again please note that this is a unpaid job, as we are only starting up we cannot offer more at this time. we have done alot of these jobs ourself to learn how to run a hostel since its been a dream of ours to open one. Start would be in the beginning of february 2016.
We are a fun, travelled couple from Sweden 30 and 25 years old. We have a big friendly dog and we are planning to get some chickens for the back yard. Together we can do some drive around the island, maybe go camping a day or two etc etc. We like to have a beer here and there and to socialize together.
