Volunteers needed at the Abraham Hostel Jerusalem!
Our hostel was opened in 2010 in order to provide quality accommodation for independent travelers in the Middle East, and was already honoured one of the 10 top large hostels in the world. The hostel is dedicated to offering the best travel experience for its guests and showing them the best Israel has to offer. In the hostel you'll find a range of services and facilities such as a tour company, travel desk, bar, huge lounge with daily evening activities, a rooftop, daily free tour to the old city and much more.
About The Volunteer Program
The volunteer project was created in order to improve the family feeling of the hostel and contribute to the atmosphere by interacting with like-minded international travellers.
The volunteers become an integral part of the staff, contributing to the imperative tasks required to running the day to day operations of the hostel. For example volunteers will help to serve breakfast, help in recycling, arrange evening events, assist in the bar and escort people to tours starting point.
The volunteers live in a shared 6 bed dorm room, occupied solely by hostel volunteers. It's a mixed-sex dorm - guys and girls together. The room includes a shower and toilets, free WiFi, air conditioning and a small fridge. Towels and linens are provided. Volunteers are also welcome to use the hostel facilities such as the communal kitchen, computer room, TV lounge, bar, and rooftop terrace. We encourage our volunteers to go on our tours which they get for free (based on availability) and also to stay in other hostels around Israel, most of them for free or with a major discount.
In order to register for the program we take a 100usd fee as a guarantee for being serious about your commitment. The total value of your stay and free tours is well beyond this amount (you are only required to pay this fee if your application is successful and you are chosen for the program).
Requirements:
- Age: 18 - 35
- Cultural tolerance and open-mindedness
- A 6-9 week commitment
- High level of independence and flexibility
- Good level of English
- Motivation to work with tourists
- Bring your own Medical insurance
