Hostel Operator/Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Hostel Manager who loves people, keeps things running smoothly, and creates a warm, home-like atmosphere. If you’re organized, calm under pressure, and enjoy building a great guest experience with the help of a volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
-Oversee and manage daily operations: check-ins/outs, reservations, and guest communication via Booking.com, Hostelworld, and email.
-Keep rooms and common areas clean, comfortable, and welcoming.
-Create weekly schedules for volunteers and coordinate their tasks.
-Train new volunteers, support them on shift, and ensure quality standards are met.
-Maintain accurate records: bookings, reports, invoices, and purchases.
-Monitor guest reviews and take action to continually improve our ratings.
-Handle guest issues promptly and kindly so everyone feels at home.
-Manage minor maintenance and make sure facilities are in good working order.
-Organize simple activities and events that bring guests together.
What you’ll bring
-Experience organizing and leading volunteers or small teams.
-Working knowledge of booking platforms (Booking.com, Hostelworld; FrontDesk is a plus).
-Fluent English, understanding of Slavic languages is an advantage.
-A calm, friendly approach and strong problem-solving skills.
-Practical understanding of hostel operations and guest service.
