1st place recipient of Hostelworld’s 2015 Hoscars for Costa Rica!! Hostel Urbano is the perfect place for travelers, whether they be a student, a backpacker, or a more mature couple looking for a relaxing stay.
In our spacious dorm style rooms, the beds each come with comfortable mattresses, two pillows, and a large locker. We have private rooms both with en suite bathrooms or shared bathrooms so everyone can choose the room they are looking for.
We have many common areas such as our TV room, where we have an enormous selection of movies, as well as our garden area, perfect for lounging out with fellow travelers. We provide all the tour information you’ll need to get the most out of your experience here in Costa Rica. Need to connect to the outside world? We have computers for your use as well as WiFi throughout the entire hostel. Did we mention we have a pool table?!
Our hostel’s kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to whip up a tasty meal. Don’t feel like cooking? We are perfectly located in a buzzing university district with plenty of restaurants and bars, all with tasty food and great prices. Some even deliver if you’re feeling lazy!
Our friendly staff, both local and international, will be more than happy to provide you with plenty of information about the city, its surroundings, how to get around and insights of the best places to go, ensuring you are able to make the most of your stay in San Jose and Costa Rica!

**As for transportation, if you need a shuttle service from the airport to Hostel Urbano please let us know. We work directly with Randall , our driver associate, who can pick you up at any hour. In order to book the transfer we need your flight information: airline, flight number and arrival time+ a phone number (code of country + number) to contact you in case he cannot find you. Price is $30 for 1 or 2 people ONLY ONE WAY
Reception is open from 7am to 10pm –If you are arriving late we can wait for you for 15 MAX, but need to requested , and after 10.15pm that we are closed ☹!
Our Cafeteria Buenas y Santas is a place where you can enjoy our menu with : delicious lunches, artisan pastries, organic coffee, argentinian mate, etc. It is a cozy and warm place to relax with wifi and good coffee!
Also if you are a guest of Hostel Urbano , they will give you a 50% discount on the coffee you want to drink, just let them know !
