Welcome to Racecourse Backpackers Hostel. We offer affordable budget accommodation close to the Christchurch Airport, major Christchurch attractions, malls, parks, Lincoln town and the CBD. Operated by knowledgeable staff with a foundation in the real estate industry that is positive, professional and solution-driven to provide the very best service.
Racecourse Backpackers Hostel - our backpackers building was formerly horse stables during the 1960s in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Situated just about 10 minutes drive to the Christchurch Airport.
Racecourse Backpackers Hostel was opened in the early 2000s with the goal of creating a home away from home like haven for our guests! Operated by knowledgeable staff with a foundation in the real estate industry that is positive, professional and solution-driven to provide the very best service. Our staff are licensed agents and property managers (Licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008) in the Real Estate industry.
Situated between Racecourse Road and Epsom Road, opposite Riccarton Park. The main building was built with classic solid triple bricks double storey structure. The backpacker/motel styled units were constructed using contemporary building materials, formerly horse stables. Recently refurbished without losing the charm of the buildings.
We have private and dorm rooms available, at affordable prices, along with an extensive range of shared facilities and services. Free Wireless Broadband Internet access available with your own compatible laptop/mobile.
Casual, short and long term accommodation. In addition, we have powered parking lots for caravans, campervans and motor homes. Wheelchair and disability friendly premises.
Racecourse Backpackers Hostel is clean, warm and friendly with comfortable beds, close to a wide range of Christchurch attractions. We are the closest budget accommodation to the Riccarton Rotary Sunday Market and Christchurch Airport. Close to the City Centre, restaurants and cafes, Universities, good schools, bus connections, closest shopping malls to our hostel are Westfield Riccarton, Bush Inn Centre, The Hub Hornby, Church Corner, and Peerswick.
Racecourse Backpackers Hostel to/from City Centre :
Public buses (no. 83 to Upper Riccarton route), run between Christchurch City Centre and Racecourse Backpackers Hostel from early morning till late at night.
In addition to accommodation, Racecourse Backpackers and Racecourse Hostel also provide transport to the airport, car rentals and surrounding suburbs within Christchurch for stay-in guests at affordable rates.
Arrivals from 2pm and up to 2am.
In 2003, these horse stables had been refurbished and revived into its present backpackers/mini motel styled/budget hotel accommodation. In 2009, the accommodation was further redecorated and Racecourse Backpackers Hostel was born. The Racecourse Backpackers Hostel is the closest budget accommodation to the Riccarton Rotary Sunday Market and the Christchurch Airport. It is also an up and coming affordable accommodation for locals and independent travellers.
