Mousetrap Backpackers

Mousetrap Backpackers is a warm and cosy hostel located in Paihia, in the beautiful Bay of Islands in northern New Zealand. It boasts an ideal location to base yourself while discovering the fantastic bays, beaches and islands of the area. Clean, small and friendly, the hostel can accommodate up to 35 guests in a variety of room types. Soak up the lovely character of the house in one of the 2 sunny lounges, or enjoy an idyllic sea view from the large outdoor veranda balcony. There are 3 fully equipped kitchen, lockers in the dorms, heating in the rooms, and roaring fire places in the lounges in winter. Limited wifi, tea, coffee, bikes, and tennis are all offered free of charge.

After a bit of unwinding from your travels, get out and explore Paihia from the myriad of ways: sailing, cruising, kayaking, diving, walking or flying. There is so much natural beauty nearby, and the hostel is only 70m from the beach. The center of town is a 5 minute walk away, with local restaurants, cafes and bars even closer. Nikki and Jake are your well traveled hosts, and ready to help you with any questions or advice. Come for a night, and stay for a week!
