Located in the absolute heart of Bocas del Toro, Panama, Hostel Heike provides a lasting memory for those on the Central America backpackers’ trail. Housed in a charming gingerbread style home built in a bygone era, but recently fully renovated, Hostel Heike has long held a coveted reputation in the Bocas del Toro backpacker world.

Although we are the largest hostel in Bocas del Toro, the greatest compliment we receive is that our hostel feels like a home away from home…that, for us, defines success.. When Hostel Heike guests aren’t exploring the Bocas del Toro beaches, diving the seas, surfing the waves, or partying the night away Bocas style, they take advantage of the comforts of the hostel itself.

Laze away the day in a hammock on our legendary panoramic roof deck. Create a feast with other backpackers in the fully stocked communal kitchen. Rest in the comfortable rooms. Pass the afternoon relaxing on the colonial balcony, with a cold beer in hand, gazing at the action on the main street below.

Many ask for jobs at Heike– very few make the cut. The incredible staff at Hostel Heike will take care of you at your best and worst. If you’re looking for somewhere to party in Bocas del Toro, we’ll come with you rather than just point you in the right direction. If you’re sick, lose a credit card, or simply don’t understand how to make a decent pancake in the morning, we’re here to help you!
