Piggery Poke Hostel

Piggery Poke hostel is in the original farmhouse at Ffrwdwenith Isaf which was built over 400 years ago. The property was refurbished in 2009 to provide a modern level of comfort whilst retaining the character of the building.The hostel is set in seven acres of pasture overlooking Cardigan Bay. We are half way between the beautiful beaches of Aberporth and Mwnt, each being just a few minutes' drive away, on a loop off the Wales Coast Path. Cardigan, with its quayside, maritime history and unspoiled high street, is just 5 miles away.If you love beaches and boats, we have them in abundance.

If walking attracts you, a loop linking us to the Wales Coast Path passes our gate. If you are an adrenaline junkie, Adventure Beyond and Cardigan Bay Active are a few minutes away.Cardigan Bay has long been a popular holiday destination. Ceredigion, the county at the centre of Cardigan Bay, is less well known, but it has a wonderful variety of landscapes, attractions and activities to offer, enough to fill a lifetime of visits here.The county nestles between the sea and Snowdonia to the north, the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the Preseli Hills to the south. This unique position means that, along the coast, we enjoy a climate similar to the south coast of England.With mountains, moorlands, rivers and seaside, all within easy reach, Ceredigion has something for everyone. We have stunning scenery, wildlife in abundance including red kites, falcons, buzzards, chough, dolphins, porpoise, basking sharks and the occasional orca, seals, otters and badgers, a superb coast with family beaches, dunes, estuaries, cliffs, and coves, river gorges and meadows.

For the active, we can offer adrenaline sports such as coasteering, white water rafting, canoeing, surfing, sailing, mountain biking, paintballing, climbing and abseiling. Add to that some wonderful walks, including a spectacular section of the Wales Coast Path. If your taste is more sedate, there are gardens, churches, castles and parks to visit, and we have countless arts and crafts courses, as well as workshops on such diverse topics as beekeeping, foraging for food, cookery and preserving food.Whatever your perfect holiday comprises, you will be hard pushed to better what you can find here.
