Ocean Backpackers Independent Hostel

Charming three Story Town House with 11 rooms. 3 mixed dorms, 1 single, 2 doubles and 5 family rooms.
All dorms have large bunks with reading lights USB ports and privacy screens. Situated in the Harbour area of Ilfracombe and nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the coast of North Devon. Ocean Backpackers is convenient for eating out and the many boat trips leaving its harbour, including Lundy Island. Ilfracombe has lots to see and do including, the wonderful Tunnels beaches and its victorian tidal pool and Verity the majestic statue by Damian Hirst, that watches over the Harbour.

The Southwest-coastal path runs though Ilfracombe and we are on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Ilfracombe is also the start of the Sustrans route 27 Coast to Coast Ilfracombe to Plymouth and we are a short drive to Woolacombe and Croyde the two most famous surfing beaches in Devon, making Ocean Backpackers.

The Hostel itself has a lovely spacious and welcoming communal living space with tables large TV, games, books, and USB workstations. There is a large catering-style kitchen with a 7 burner range oven, microwave, two catering refrigerators, stainless steel worktops, excellent selection of pans, baking trays, utensils and crockery.

Secure storage for bikes, surfboards or Kayaks. Wetsuit washing station and hangers. Dry heated storage for Coats and boots.

We are very popular with walkers, surfers, divers, kayakers and cyclists.
